myOhionatives.com
a web site for teaching conservation and
influence of all people to care for OUR OHIO and all the worlds Flora and
Fauna

Our Ohio has a diverse and beautiful range of plants
and wildlife. There are different regions with different conditions that
support these different species. Habitat loss, invasive species and
ignorance are the main enemies of all native species. If you go look in your
yard more than likely you will not see but a few native species, just about
everything we plant or have living in our Human Ohio doesn't belong here.
Some are naturalized, in other words they came with Europeans and have
become ingrained in Ohio's eco-system.
The purpose of this web site is to
show you the species that belong here, all that we can find. There are 747
species of wildflowers, 282 species of trees, 79 species of Reptiles and
Amphibians, 47 species of
Mammals, 233 of Birds,(waterfowl and migratory) 11 species of Frogs and 3
species of Toads.
Discovery of nature can keep a person wondering what
is in the next forest, wetland or prairie. It can change a way a person
thinks about what we do not care about anymore. We go on without a thought
of what we are removing from the Earth. Replacing it with roads, houses and
business. To Influence people
with photos and information about what those creatures and species of plants
are and why they are important. The Croc hunter once said that people will
save what they care about.
April is a grand month,
with Easter on the 8th and Earthday on the 22. Celebrate a rebirth of your
own and spread the word of conservation. If we cannot change what will your
children's future be like?
myOhionatives.com is here to help you know
what you should care about and why. To make a difference in the conservation
and preservation of Earth.
